GENERAL QUESTIONS

What is SunLink's project history?
SunLink PV mounting products have been installed on over 250 MW of projects at 1000+ sites across North America.

 What projects have used SunLink?
Notable SunLink projects include: Atlantic City Convention Center; Google; Palo Verde Community College; Pfizer; Safe-way; San Francisco International Airport; Sierra Nevada Brewing Company; Sony Pictures; Walgreens; and Wal-Mart.

What integrators do you work with?
We work with more than 125 different customers and a wide variety of integrators.

What is your minimum and maximum project size?
SunLink provides mounting systems for commercial rooftop projects greater than 30 kW, and ground mount projects greater than 50 kW. There is no upper limit to SunLink’s ability to deliver quality products on time.

Do SunLink mounting systems carry a warranty?
The RMS and GMS are warrantied against defects of material and/or workmanship for 15 and 20 years respectively. Ask your salesman for details.

What engineering services do you offer?
SunLink offers site-specific design and engineering support for wind-load analysis, seismic reports, and permitting assistance. This allows us to deliver shipments in a coordinated, easy-to-install package with every component pre-cut, pre-drilled, and pre-welded to fit your project precisely. We can even prepanelize if you so desire.

Do you have distributors or a parts catalog?
To best serve you, SunLink sells its systems directly. We do not maintain a distribution channel nor publish a product catalog. Currently, we engineer each SunLink mounting system to meet the needs of each customer and each project. Please contact SunLink sales for additional information.

ROOF MOUNT SOLUTIONS

What makes SunLink roof-friendly?
First, many SunLink projects are securely held in place without penetrating the roof. When circumstances require connections, SunLink’s design calls for far fewer penetrations than expected. Second, other features minimize impact to the roof including:

  • Tilt-Access™ allows easy access the roof
  • Low distributed weight
  • Unimpeded drainage to minimize or eliminate ponding

Does SunLink provide residential solutions?
SunLink is available for commercial or utility-scale roof and ground applications only.

On what kind of roofs can SunLink be used?
SunLink can be installed on any large roof with a slope of 1.5 in 12 or less. Our customers have successfully used SunLink on thermoplastic membranes (PVC, TPO); thermoset membranes (EDPM, CSPE / Hypalon); other single ply membranes; built-up roofs; and metal roofs.

What module brands are compatible with SunLink roof mount products?
SunLink roof mount products work with all crystalline photovoltaic panels. A thin-film solution is also currently available.

How is SunLink secured to the building or site?
The SunLink system is highly engineered and aerodynamically designed to be secured without penetrating the roof in all but the most extreme wind and seismic zones. When penetrations are necessary, SunLink uses deck connections, and often requires far fewer roof penetrations than competing products.

What kind of ballasts does your RMS use?
Our rooftop ballasted system uses standard 12”x12”, 24 lb. concrete pavers.

How does your system fit around skylights?
The SunLink roof mount system uses panelized modules in configurations of 3 and 4, enabling ample flexibility to fit around skylights and other roof irregularities.

What is prepanelization?
The unique design of the SunLink RMS makes SunLink the only mounting solution provider to offer the service of pre-assembly of 3 or 4 modules in mini-arrays before they arrive on-site. This “prepanelization” service simplifies installation and increases labor efficiency on the roof.

GROUND MOUNT SOLUTIONS

What types ground mount solutions do you offer?
SunLink ground mount systems (GMS) are available with non-penetrating ballasts and post-mounts. Ballasted systems work best on flat sites (up to 5% grade) or tiered sites.

What are the advantages of the ballasted GMS?
The ballasted SunLink ground mount system is ideal for agricultural land, leased land, brown fields, landfills, and even retired airfields that may require system relocation at a later date. There are no footings to dig up if the system or land needs to be reused, and the ballast screws allow for leveling on slightly uneven terrain.

What module brands are compatible with SunLink ground mount products?
SunLink ground mount products are compatible with all crystalline photovoltaic panels.

What kind of ballasts does the GMS use?
The SunLink Ground Mount System (GMS) typically uses precast concrete ballasts that vary in size depending upon site specific engineering based on wind design speed, exposure category, module tilt, and array configuration.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

What kind of permitting support do you provide?
SunLink provides detailed windload analyses to aid in the permitting process. However, our customers will still need their own structural engineer for building adequacy.

Does the RMS require a setback from the roof edge?
The SunLink roof mount system does require a setback from the roof edge. Our sales team will work with you to ensure your system layout optimizes your available roof space.
